By Yuan Gao
The idea of the work Blue Moon##2 originates from my individual experiences of tackling the natural and social environments, as I being artist travel in different places and exposes myself to every new challenge or wonder. Any physical, earthly and biological mutations, metamorphosis and protrusions could trigger my immense curiosity and obsession.
I fancy that in this universe there exists an invisible yet invincible preternatural force that balances the entire living system, which also brings about eerie perplexing variations.
In this work, the irregular round circles bear the physical resemblances of various organic mutations or swelling in the physical world; the blue and black spots are the walking cells and living beings that move and float about in the infinite bio-universe. These living creatures huddle and crackle noisily not only on the paper but also in my mind, they slash fragmented recollections and sparkle spontaneous illumination.
In my creed, nothing emerges without any reasons and anything disappears with no marks or specks left on the earth. We are chained-together human beings, the most bewildering and magnificent scene thrive in the course of variation.
